Tacit started with a simple frustration: cookie banners had become theater. Everyone clicked "accept," nobody meant it, and no one could prove what was agreed. We wanted to rebuild the whole thing around one idea — a yes you can trust.
"Tacit consent" is the kind you never actually gave — the assumed, unspoken yes that most tracking quietly relies on. We named the company after the exact thing we're against. Everything here is the opposite: spoken, recorded, revocable.
We're a small, remote team of engineers and privacy nerds who've built consent and data-handling systems at larger companies and got tired of the compromises. Tacit is what we wish we'd had.
Consent is the start. The bigger goal is a clear, portable record of what people agreed to across every service they use — one that belongs to them as much as to the businesses they interact with. We're building toward that, one honest yes at a time.
Try Tacit, or just tell us what your consent setup is missing.
